The scholarship will allow Nick to bring back knowledge of international innovations to the Scottish hospitality industry and gain expertise to progress to the next level of his career. Recognising the need to continually update skills within the industry, the scholarships enhance personal development and bring fresh ideas back to Scottish businesses to remain at the forefront of international innovations.

As part of his scholarship, Nick has secured a place at the renowned Ecole Hotelier Lausanne for their outstanding bespoke HITS Young Manager Programme. Founded in 1893, the Ecole Hotelier Lausanne is the oldest hotel school in the world and regarded industry-wide as the best hotel school in the world.

Working in partnership with outdoor adventure activity company Boots N Paddles, this half term will see the Inch launch a 3-day action packed outdoor activity experience, perfect for visitors looking to push the usual hotel break away a little further.

Suitable for groups, families and couples of any age, the Loch Ness Activity break will consist of a fun and enjoyable active itinerary. On day 1, guests will take to the magical and mysterious waters of Loch Ness in a canoe for a half day trip - an excellent way to view the surrounding glen and wildlife.

Day 2 will provide guests with the chance to explore Glen Affric on foot which boasts magnificent pine woods with views over the loch to the stunning mountains beyond and discover the spectacular Plodda Falls, the highest waterfall in the area. Guided by the team at Boots N Paddles, guests will then be taken off the beaten track to fully experience the wilderness areas of the Highlands.

Mountain biking on day 3 will provide the chance to view breathtaking scenery and wildlife as well as experience part of the Great Glen. An adrenaline-fuelled afternoon will comprise a “WoW” ball session taking place on Loch Ness - otherwise known as climbing inside a giant inflatable sphere and once sealed up and secure, guests will - in theory - Walk on Water!
